Graduating in 2001 from a Certification Program,
Jimmy began his professional training under Progressive Equine®,
LLC. Jimmy has been around horses for thirty years riding for fun,
in trail rides to showing Tennessee Walking Horses. Jimmy has been a
member of the AL Menah Shrine Horse Patrol for over eighteen years.
Jimmy knew there was a better way of working with horses and after
investigating many other well known trainer’s programs he decided to
go to Parachute, Colorado for the 12 week certification program.
Jimmy brings his love for horses along with over twenty five years
experience of teaching in the medical field together with his
knowledge acquired in the certification program together providing
his clients with the ultimate educational experience.
Jimmy's philosophy is that he has just started
learning and that everyone can learn from studying and riding with
as many clinicians as you can. All clinicians basically teach the
same techniques but utilize different terms. The difference in all
clinicians is their personalities, that is why Jimmy continues to
observe all clinicians he can in order to evaluate if there is a
better way to teach the horse. This, the pursuit for more knowledge,
is what Jimmy feels is the difference between a horseman and a horse
trainer. Jimmy strives to teach horse owners that they can teach
their horse to do anything they want. All horses, from horses ridden
just for fun, to the highly competitive horse must have a
good foundation. Jimmy takes horses in for training,
however; he feels that if the owner is not in direct participation
in the training then they will not be able to obtain the performance
they are looking for. Jimmy began a very active program conducting
clinics anywhere he can get riders interested in learning. He also
started a Horsemanship Program where he strives to
teach people how to work with more than just one horse. Jimmy tries
to give his clients what they need for a Safe and
Fun experience, without a lot of information that
they will never use. Jimmy became a member of AQHA's Professional
Horseman's Association in 2006.
