Many Miles Braided Leather and Rawhide

All products listed on this page are hand braided in the United States in the small town of Absarokee, MT.   All strings are cut to width, skived to the correct thickness, and the edges beveled, all by hand.  Each product is unique and a true work of art.   Everything Alex's makes is meant to be used and can be used hard.   Some of Montana's leading cowboys have used and abused these rawhide products and they stand the test of time! Shoo-Fly - These are premium products.  Most shoo fly manufactures double the horse hair over the ring.  After numerous uses, the hair breaks from the wear on the ring.  Alex manufactures his Shoo-Fly's by attaching the horse hair to premium latigo leather.  This keeps the hair from breaking, so it will last for many miles of hard riding.  $37.99

Bosals -  All Bosals have a twisted nylon core.  Alex's prefers twisted nylon over rawhide due to it's superior ability to conform to the horse's nose and it's resistant to stretching and warping due to sweat and moisture.

1.  Reining Bosal - 9/16" bosal, 12 plait sides, 24 plait nose all made from kangaroo leather - This bosal is designed for a softer feel, yet has enough body for control over the horse.  The kangaroo leather is soft and subtle and does not rub or sore the horse.  It's incredible durability will last for many miles.   $225.00  

2.  Chitwood Bosal - 9/16" bosal, 12 plait  rawhide sides, 24 plait kangaroo noseband, and kangaroo heel knot - This bosal is designed for use in colt starting, giving stiff body to the sides for control.  Although stiff, the kangaroo noseband prevents soreness and rubbing on the horse's nose during training.  $225.00   

3.  Bosalitas - 1/4" pencil version of the above bosals, available in both the Reining Bosal  and Chitwood Bosal.  Used for under bridles and get down ropes.  $175.00

4.  Natural Horseman Bosal - Exclusive Design for the natural horseman, the 16 strand braided nylon sides gives just the right softness and feel for natural training techniques.  The 24 plait kangaroo noseband prevents excessive abrasion on the horses nose.  This is a unique one of a kind bosal and has been tested by top trainers.  We are very excited about this new product.    $150.00
