The existing splicing manual or “red book”, as many
of us called it, is officially retired after a long run
and many light-hearted comments made about its cover
stating “1983 edition.”
The new manual is the result of a partnership
between our marketing/design team and R&D staff to
create user-friendly directions for the latest splicing
techniques. Besides the durable cover and spiral-bound
format, readers will enjoy:
- The full-color Samson rope identification chart,
featuring 52 different ropes and their corresponding
construction and class designation,
- 158 pages of 30 different splices grouped by 7
types of rope constructions,
- And the rope retirement visual guide and check
list.
